And thanks to Jim Walker for passing along the Brother Rice signing day photo. Four Warriors will continue their lacrosse careers in college, and three of them will do so in-state:

Detroit

The Titans have named their captains for the 2012 spring campaign. Michigan natives Brad Janer (Detroit Catholic Central) and Jamie Hebden (Brother Rice) are joined by fellow seniors Ty Maruyama and Jason McDonald. Congrats to all four.

Michigan

Head coach John Paul was named the Lacrosse Magazine Person of the Year, and the magazine followed it up with some related content:

“How do you look at man, who for 14 years, built a club program, brought three consecutive national championships, untold numbers of conference championships, recruited high-caliber players who not only did great on the field, but were also terrific student-athletes, who grew up in this town, built this program, put us in a position where we could cultivate this donor base. You’re going to do all that and you’re going to look at the guy who was instrumental in making it all happen and say, “Gee, I’m going to go out and do a coaching search?'” [Michigan Athletic Director David] Brandon said.

Congrats to JP.

GVSU

The Grand Valley Lanthorn(!) talks about Laker Laxer (say that five times fast) Jack Dumsa, a pre-season favorite for MCLA D-2 player of the year:

Even with a team-first mentality, Dumsa is only 85 points from the MCLA Division II career scoring record. He had 130 points last season and has a full season ahead of him.

“The only person that doesn’t feel that he needs the recognition is Jack himself,” [GVSU head coach Tim] Murray said. “That is one of the best parts about him. He is a team first type of guy. Having said that, he is about as deserving as it gets for this type of award.”

It would be no surprise to see Dumsa break the career scoring record.

Etc.

Recent Michigan Lacrosse alum Pat Stansik has Pregaming with Pat t-shirts available at Underground Printing. “What is Pregaming with Pat?” you ask? Why it’s the latest sensation sweeping Youtube.

Visit the link to buy a shirt or check out the rest of his content. Pat also chimes in with a holiday column for Inside Lacrosse.

Just saw this: http://www.laxlessons.com/2011/11/18/cannon-nations-top-sophomores-reflects-verbal-unc/ Even though he picked UNC, it’s good to see that Michigan is starting to get in the mix with top sophomores. Not surprising. Now they just need to start winning a few of those battles.
