Lax Links 8-2-11

First up is a self-link with a correction. The season-ending “The Next Level” post listed incorrect stats for Bryan Walker. The correct stats are as follows:

Yale (10-4). Sophomore Micdfielder Bryan Walker (Brother Rice) – Saw action in 2 games this season, scoring a Goal on 2 Shots.

Thanks to his dad (also the father of Michigan-bound Warrior Chris Walker) for pointing out the incorrect stats. I’ve updated the original post to reflect the proper numbers.

Video Highlights from the Warrior 40 event, which included a couple Michiganders.

Incoming Michigan goalie Emil Weiss earned recognition following the US Lacrosse Champion Showcase. He registered 22 saves for Team Spirit. I have the final of the tournament DVRed, still haven’t watched to see if Weiss’s team is in it.

A mention of Brother Rice’s Bennett Packer, one of 8 High School All-Americans headed to Delaware.

Want to be Michigan’s equipment manager? The job is available! (HT: 412 Lax).

All-Oakland County selections. You’re certain to be shocked that there are five Brother Rice players on the first team, along with Coach Rob Ambrose.

A rising junior faceoff specialist impressed at CT Super Sophs last weekend. No word on who it is (any guesses from those who know more about high schoolers in the state?).

Full article from PhillyLacrosse.com on Paxton Moore’s commitment to Michigan. With a bit more info out there, I should be able to cobble together a Hello post in the coming days.

Speaking of 2012 recruiting, Detroit is showing a commit on LaxPower now, Rockford goalie Connor Flynn. I’ll look into him a bit more, and we may have our first Hello post from a Detroit perspective coming soon. I promise a 2011 recruiting recap for the Titans will appear sooner or later.

As always, if you come across an article you’d like me to link, or any other new tips, etc., you can e-mail it to t.w.sullivan1@gmail.com.
