A lot of the games were already known (thanks to the other schools’ roster releases), but now we have the whole shebang. In addition to the conference schedule, Michigan will play some pretty good teams (Penn State, Hopkins) and some bad and/or unknown ones (High Point, St. Joe’s).

A few interesting points: A midweek night game outdoors against Detroit, a neutral-site game against Army, and another football spring game event (presumably that “TBA” for the Ohio State game).

Noticed this as I was writing my piece on the schedule: Is that Colgate game at Citi Field or was that just a typo (Flushing instead of Hamilton)? I see nothing about an event in a Google search.

Living 15 minutes from Flushing on the 7 train, I’d kill for that game to be at Citi.

The Michigan schedule says Flushing, and that would make sense since I’d heard U-M would be playing a neutral(-ish) site game in the city – though I’d heard it would be against Yale, not Colgate. I’ll double check with U-M media relations.

Detroit night game was a nice touch. Most HS teams that play on Saturdays play a Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday schedule so the kids and the parents can get there without conflicts. The weather isn’t guaranteed but has a better chance of being decent this late in the season. Kudos to Holtz and JP for putting the game there.

Have heard that Colgate game is at Citi Field (Mets) and Army game is at Sun Life Stadium (Dolphins). Makes sense since the owners of both of those pro teams are UM alums/donors.

Detroit game makes sense. If you have the capability to play at night mid-week, then do it so the lax community can attend.

I would say that 7 straight games on the road is tough, but at this point every game will still be tough for Michigan. Nice to see all those home games later in the season when hopefully the weather is getting better.

I’m excited that I get to see UM at Hopkins (45 minutes from my house) and at Delaware (90 minutes from my house). The only downer is that the Hopkins game is February 23. Maryland isn’t as cold as Michigan in the winter, but that game is still likely to be in the upper 30s or lower 40s. Still, can’t wait to wear my UM lax shirt and hat at historic Homewood Field.

Interesting facts… While this will be the first time Michigan and Hopkins have played as D1 opponents in a real game, this will not be the first time Michigan has played at Homewood or the first time Michigan has played Hopkins. The UM club team played Georgia Tech at Homewood maybe 10 or 12 years ago. Also, the 2008 UM team that won their first MCLA national championship scrimmaged the defending national champ JHU team (with a senior Paul Rabil) in Ann Arbor in the fall of 2007. I was at that Ann Arbor scrimmage where they played Army as well. Great night for lacrosse in Michigan.

I was at Homewood when the club team scrimmaged G-Tech. It was fun watching the club team play on hallowed lax ground, but it will be 100 times better watching the varsity team play a real game against Hopkins.
