I’m not really going to enter the business of putting up a dedicated post every time someone commits, but Michigan has broken the season on the class of 2014, a newsworthy event in the lacrosse recruiting world.
Hugh Mosko from Georgetown Prep (Md.) has committed to play his college lacrosse at Michigan. Mosko – the younger brother of Wolverines freshman midfielder Andrew Mosko – is a defenseman who plays his club ball with Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is not in Inside Lacrosse’s Top 20 Young Guns (which, to be fair, includes only two defensemen).
To date, mostly perennially-powerful teams had gained a 2014 verbal. Delaware, Duke, Georgetown, Johns Hopkins, Maryland, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Penn State, Towson, and Virginia (nine commits already!) are ahead of the game. Michigan seems to be following a similar timeline in the recruiting process.
