Our weekly look at Michigan natives’ performances in Division-1 lacrosse. We’re nearing the end: the only remaining teams are Stony Brook (Graham Adams), Johns Hopkins (Andrew Cote), and Yale (Bryan Walker).
Detroit 10, Canisius 12
- Freshman attack Brandon Beauregard (Notre Dame Prep) – REcorded a goal on two shots (one on goal) and notched an assist.
- Senior midfielder John Bemben (Hartland) – Caused two turnovers and picked up five ground balls. Also committed one turnover.
- Freshman midfielder Mike Birney (Detroit Catholic Central) – Picked up one ground ball.
- Junior midfielder Tyler Corcoran (South Lyon) – Won 10 of 15 faceoffs, picking up nine ground balls, and took one shot.
- Junior midfielder Brandon Davenport (Grosse Pointe North) – Won three of nine faceoffs, picking up one ground ball, and took one shot.
- Sophomore attack Scott Drummond (Birmingham Seaholm) – Recorded a goal on five shots (three on goal), and added two assists. Also picked up one ground ball.
- Junior defenseman John Dwyer (Detroit Catholic Central) – Started, caused one turnover, and picked up one ground ball. Also committed two turnovers.
- Sophomore midfielder Nick Garippa (Notre Dame Prep) – Lost his only attempted faceoff, but caused one turnover and picked up one ground ball.
- Freshman defenseman Joe Gifford (Notre Dame Prep) – Played, but id not accrue any statistics.
- Senior attack Scott Harris (Saline) – Started and scored two goals on three shots (all on goal), while picking up one ground ball. Also committed one turnover.
- Senior midfielder Brad Janer (Detroit Catholic Central) – Played, but did not accrue any statistics.
