There are 60 players listed on 17 different teams (and if I’ve missed anyone, please let me know). That’s a modest increase from last year, when there were 53 Michigan players on 19 different squads. That increase is less impressive when you take into account the addition of another in-state program – there are 13 homegrown players on Michigan’s roster, nine of whom were on last year’s club team. Overall, the numbers are down. There are some mitigating factors to take into account (there are a handful of Michigan natives – including some transfers – on Marquette’s roster, but the Golden Eagles don’t begin play until the 2013 season), but hopefully we’ll see Michigan representation pick up in the near future.
