  1. David says:

Tim, have you posted the 3 new signees for UDM’s lacrosse team? One comes from walled lake central, hill academy, and CC

  2. Sir Laxalot says:

The Detroit/ Marquette game was pretty bad on a number of fronts… 1. It was one of the worst officiated Lacrosse games I have seen, but that’s not why the Titans lost, but it didn’t help. 2. The Titans looked unprepared 3. It showed as they played poorly… I did not see the stats, but was there… It was a cold game with the wind blowing steadily off the lake. AJ Level did not travel and don’t know why. Hicks took limited face offs and stood on the sideline the rest of the game. The offense turned it over way to much, and so did the defense. Credit to Marquette, they were well coached and came to play… It was the
first home game ever and they bussed their students to the field (about 15 minutes from campus) their basketball team came to the game and tailgated, had kids from the area and Chicago area Lax teams show up… pretty good atmosphere except for the cold. The Eagle players fed off of it. Ryan Kelly started in net for the Titans, and he was a bit rusty after not playing since Navy… 2 bad goals early had Marquette holding a 4-3 Halftime lead…The defense looked average, missed picking up cutters and slides… The offense struggled mainly with turnovers and they were the self inflicted kind…Bad passing etc… They had some good opportunities early… One thing was clear again… Mike Birney is becoming an offensive force… He continues to improve every game…Using his size and speed, he can get to the net… His shot is getting more impressive as well, simply shooting bullets, His best goal was called off… Maini struggled to score on some point blank chances and that hurt… also the it seemed like the Titans hit 5 posts… Houtby was solid and steady as usual…. The officiating was bad… One sided, and Marquette got away with a lot on faceoffs, stick holding on the wings, etc…Every penalty was non releasable it seemed, and it hurt Detroit as Marquette has the best man up in the country, or among the top… The stripes tried to even it up in the end, but the game was over by then….Anyway,It was good to get out of Wisconsin, because reality is, although it would have been nice to win, it didn’t matter… The play offs start now for the Titans… Win or go home starts now… Canisius comes to Detroit in a do or die game, and every player has to have a game or it’s over…
